Lady Mustangs Fall in Season Opener

Auburn, ME - Foul trouble and a bundle of turnovers plagued the Lady Mustangs from the onset, as they fell to the Tommies of St. Thomas University, 60-55, in the opening game of the 21st Annual Can-Am Tournament.  Although CM placed 3 people in double figure scoring, and led at the half, they could not overcome the turnovers.

Frankie Lally (Auburn, ME) paced the Lady Mustangs with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Seve Deery-Deraps (Rangeley, ME) tallied 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Danielle Samson (Sabattus, ME) played a tremendous game off the bench, chipping in with 12 points and hauling in 6 rebounds.

Jessica Patenaude played a great game for the Tommies, finishing with a game high 24 points and 8 rebounds.  Nikki Leblanc put in 13 points off the bench for STU.

Samantha Maxfield (Hollis, ME) finished with a game high 10 rebounds.

The Lady Mustangs fall to 0-1 on the year and will host the University of New Brunswick - St. John Saturday at 5:00pm in their 2nd game of the Can-Am Tournament.
