Lady Mustangs Dominate Great Bay

Auburn, ME – The Lady Mustangs continued right where they left off last night, to jump out on the Herons this afternoon and coast to a 81-27 YSCC victory.  Five players scored in double figures, and CM dominated Great Bay on the boards, finishing with a 54-29 rebounding edge.

Even battling shooting woes, the Lady Mustangs were able to jump out to a 36-13 halftime lead; a lead that they would extend with a 24-5 surge in the third quarter.  Seve Deery-Deraps (Rangeley, ME) led the team with 13 points, while Nicole Hamblin (Fayette, ME), Taylor Esty (Rangeley, ME) and Abby Tilton (Nottingham, NH) all tallied 11 points.  Allie Ablondi (Thompson, CT) finished with 12 points.

Ashley Lambert led the Herons with a game-high 16 points.

Mikayla Yanez (Lisbon, ME), Frankie Lally (Auburn, ME), and Alex Rowe (South Paris, ME) played a great overall game, with all 3 diving on the floor for loose balls, and causing havoc on defense.

With the win CM improves to 14-7 overall and 6-3 in the Yankee Conference.  The Lady Mustangs travel to UMaine-Machias tomorrow to play their third game in three days in another YSCC matchup.
