Lady Mustangs rout Unity

Auburn, ME - Once again, CM jumped out to a huge 1st quarter advantage, using their pressure defense to overwhelm their opponent.  This time is was at the expense of the Rams of Unity College.  A 34-6 1st quarter lead was just too much for the Rams, and the Lady Mustangs strolled to a 106-24 victory.

Taylor Esty (Rangeley, ME) scored all 17 of her points in the first half to lead all scorers.  Jenny Schlim (Nottingham, NH) tallied 15 points, while Jane Lester (Bundaberg, Australia) finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds.  Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) sniped a game-high and career-high 9 steals.

Once again all 15 Lady Mustangs played at least 10-minutes, with no one playing more than 18 minutes.  CM scored 68 points in the paint, with the bench contributing 53 points.  They were also +29 on the glass and assisted on 23 baskets.

With the win CM improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Yankee Conference.  Next up, the Lady Mustangs hosts NJCAA DII powerhouse, CCRI on Saturday at 1:00pm.  The 2 squared off last year in Auburn as well, with the Knights taking the 94-71 victory.
