Lady Mustangs battle Bates to the very end

Lewiston, ME - A feverish comeback was short lived, as the Lady Mustangs could not quite hold on to defeat Bates.  Trailing by 11 points with 8-mintues to go, CM scored 13 straight points to take a 2-point lead with 6-minutes remaining.  Bates' seasoned veterans slowed the pace down outscoring the Mustangs down the stretch, pulling away for a 60-54 victory.

Tianna Harriman (Auburn, ME) was lights-out from the 3-point line, connecting on 4 treys, tallying 18 total points.  Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) played a phenominal game finishing with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 steals before fouling out with under 2-mintues left.  Jenny Schlim (Nottingham, NH) chipped in with 10 points, including a deep 3.

CM forced 21 turnovers, which led to 20 points, but could not overcome shooting woes from the free throw line or floor, or being out-rebounded, 45-27.  The Lady Mustangs turned the ball over only 13 times, in a hard fought contest with a championship-like atmosphere.

With the loss, CM falls to 8-2 overall and will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel up to 'the County' to take on the Owls of UMaine-Presque Isle.  Following Thanksgiving, they take on defending USCAA National Champions, College of St. Joseph's (VT), on Sunday the 27th, at home.
