Lady Mustangs shake off sluggish start, cage Owls

Presque Isle, ME - After a 5:49 scoring drought, CM found themselves tied with UMaine-Presque Isle 13-13 after the first quarter.  Although the tempo and scoring picked up a bit in the second quarter, it took until after halftime before the Lady Mustangs should break away from the pesky Owls.  A dominant second half led CM to the 82-56 victory.

Tianna Harriman (Auburn, ME) connected on 4 triples, and finished with 14 points while also dishing out 4 assists, and sniping 3 steals.  Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) stuffed that stat sheet again, this time with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals.  Nicole Hamblin (Fayette, ME), Jane Lester (Bundaberg, Australia), and Ellie Harrington (Hampshire, UK) each scored 8 points.  

Eraleena Gethers-Hairston (Auburn, ME) tallied a career-high and team-high 10 rebounds to go along with 6 points, while Jenny Schlim (Nottingham, NH) tallied a team-high 5 assists.

The Lady Mustangs shot 48% from the floor and combined for 22 assists on their 31 made field goals.

Amanda Hotham led UMPI with 22 points.

With the win CM improves to 9-0 overall and will host the defending USCAA DII National Champions, College of St. Joseph's (VT) this Sunday at 12pm.  The Fighting Saints have won the last 4 matchups against the the Lady Mustangs and come in with an overall and conference record of 4-0 while averaging 77 points per game.
