Women's Basketball routs Champlain-St. Lawrence

Auburn. ME - A dominant interior performance set the tone in the 1st half, and a barrage of long balls in the 2nd half proved to be too much for the Lions of Champlain - St. Lawrence, as CM cruised to the 83-27 victory.

Five Lady Mustangs scored in double-figures, led by Kristen Huntress, who connected on 4 of 5 3-pointers, with 16 points.  Jordyn Reynolds scored all of her 14 points in the 1st half, and also pulled down 7 rebounds.  Brooke Reynolds dominated the game from start to finish with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals.  Natalie Thurber and Jane Lester each hit for 10 points, with Lester taking 2 charges as well.

The CM bench scored 46 of the 83 points, which included 7 of the 8 threes that the Mustangs connected on.  Overall, CM shot 44.2% from the floor while out-rebounding the Lions 45-18, and forcing 27 turnovers.  Most impressively, the Lady Mustangs dished out 27 assists on their 34 made field goals.

According to Head Women's Basketball coach, Andrew Morong, "This was a phenomenal team win.  I was so please with our intensity from start to finish, and the way we shared the basketball was in mid-season form.  Everyone who went into the game made a positive and almost immediate impact, and that is exactly what we are hoping for.  We will enjoy this weekend's wins for the next couple of hours, have a nice day off from practice tomorrow, then go back to work on Tuesday to prepare for Navy Prep."
