Lady Mustangs trap Bobcats

Auburn, ME - Seven different Lady Mustangs scored in double-figures on their way to a 110-29 blowout of Paul Smith's College.  Of the 13 players active for today's game, all of them played double-digit minutes, with 12 finding the scoring column.  CM scored the first 24 points of the game and never looked back.

Natalie Thurber led all scorers with 16 points, while also recording 6 rebounds and 5 steals.  Jane Lester recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Eraleena Gethers-Hairston narrowly missed her own double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.  Brooke Reynolds had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, while freshman Jordyn Reynolds scored 13 points with 7 rebounds of her own.  Alex Bessey was everywhere in her 18-minutes, recording 12 points, 7 steals, and 6 assists.

CM outscored the Bobcats 70-10 in the paint, and recorded more offensive rebounds (30) than Paul Smith's did total rebounds (21).  The +40 rebounding advantage is one of the largest in program history.  The Lady Mustangs also recorded 36 steals and 26 assists.

Alexis Best led the Bobcats with 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting.

With the win CM improves to 12-1 overall and 8-0 in the YSCC.  They will be back in action tomorrow morning (11:00am) in Randolph, VT where they take on the Knights of Vermont Tech.
