Auburn, ME - The Lady Mustangs scored the first bucket of the game, then scored 9 more in the first quarter to jump out to a 30-7 lead heading into the second.  After a sluggish second frame, CM out-scored the Fighting Saints 41-16 in the second half, on their way to a convincing 83-39 win.

Brooke Reynolds spearheaded CM defense which forced 43 turnovers.  Reynolds notched 7 steals to go along with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Kristina Blais continued her hot streak, hitting for 12 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.  Off the bench, Natalie Thurber scored a game-high 14 points while Jane Lester shot a perfect 5-5 from the floor, finishing with 11.  All 15 players played at least 5-minutes, with 13 of them finding the scoring column.

Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, on the win, "I do not think we could have played any better than we did in the first quarter, or any worse in the second.  We've been struggling with consistency in games, something we will have to improve at quite quickly.  February and March basketball is different.  Every little thing becomes a major deal.  We have to work on playing to our standards, not the scoreboard."

Alexius Brooks led the Fighting Saints with 9 points and 10 rebounds.  St. Joseph's (VT) falls to 9-10 on the year.

With the win the Lady Mustangs improve to 23-1 overall.  Three home games round out the regular season next week.  Unity comes to Auburn in Tuesday (6pm), rival, Southern Maine CC arrives Wednesday (6pm), while UMaine-Machias visits Friday (6pm).
