Reynolds, Blais, Thurber tabbed YSCC All-Conference

Concord, NH - The Yankee Small Conference announced their 2017-18 Basketball All-Conference, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team Sportsmanship, and Regular Season Champion awards this afternoon in an awards ceremony on the campus of NHTI.  Three members of the women's basketball team were named 1st or 2nd Team All-Conference.  Award winners were chosen by the head coaches in the league.

Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) was named 1st Team All-Conference for the second straight year.  Currently, Reynolds is averaging a team-high 12.2 points per game.  Additionally, she averages 7 rebounds, 4.4 steals, 2.8 assists, and 1 block per game, while shooting 55.4% from the floor.  In the YSCC Reynolds ranks 10th in points per game, 3rd in FG%, 1st in steals per game, 3rd in assist to turnover ratio, 2nd in offensive rebounds per game, and 9th in total rebounds per game.  Reynolds accomplishes all of this while playing just 21-minutes per game, which ranks her outside of the top-25 in minutes per game.

Kristina Blais (Lewiston, ME) was named 2nd Team All-Conference.  Blais, who has been surging since December, leads the conference in assists per game (4.6) and is 6th in 3-point FG%.  Like Reynolds, Blais only averages 21-minutes per game for the Lady Mustangs.

Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) was also named 2nd Team All-Conference.  Thurber, who actually comes off the bench for the Lady Mustangs, averages 10 points per game and has the 7th highest 3-point FG% in the league.  She has also hit the 6th most 3-pointers this season and ranks 9th in steals per game.

Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, on the selections, "I am very happy for Brookie, Kris, and Nat; they have all worked extremely hard this year, and have all stepped up with monster games when we've needed them to.  I am excited to see if that ever happens all on the same night, because it if does, wow.  Obviously I am extremely biased when it comes to our players, but I do believe we had two other players that could have been considered for recognition as well.  With that being said, I know these three are appreciative of their recognition, but like everyone else in our program, they are here for something bigger, and that is team success, and how they perform this weekend in the tournament."

The entire team was also recognized for being the Yankee Small College Conference Regular Season Champions.  This is the 2nd straight year, and the 4th time in 6 years, the Lady Mustangs have earned the honor, finishing 16-0 in league play this season (14-0 last year).

CM will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, at noon time to take on NHTI in the YSCC Elite-8 semi-final game.  All games are taking place on the campus of NHTI in Concord, NH.
