After decorated career, Blais named CMCC Female Athlete of the Year

Auburn, ME - During her two years as captain of the women's basketball team, Kristina Blais led the Mustangs to a 63-3 overall record, and a perfect 36-0 record against Yankee Conference opponents.  Her teams won two regular season conference championships, two conference tournament championships, and twice competed in the USCAA National Tournament – playing in the final national championship game each year.

After helping the 2017 team become the first women's college basketball program in Maine to win a national championship, Kristina led the Mustangs back to the national title game this season after winning 28-straight games. During the 2018 campaign, she was named YSCC 2nd Team All-Conference and a USCAA Honorable Mention All-American. An excellent student who has earned honors or high honors every semester, Kristina was named a USCAA Academic All-American, and has twice been named to the Yankee Conference All-Academic Team.

Coach Andrew Morong said "Kristina's impact on our women's basketball program extends far beyond her stat line and accolades. Her willingness to challenge herself and others around her make her a tremendous representative of college and a role model to all aspiring student-athletes."

Kristina will attend the University of Southern Maine in the fall where she will continue her basketball career while pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Management.

In recognition of Kristina's strong academic success and her outstanding leadership and performance on the basketball court, we are proud to name her the CMCC Female Student Athlete of the Year.
