Texas point guard joining Lady Mustangs

Auburn, ME - Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, is pleased to announce the commitment of Rebecca Davila, a point guard out of El Dorado High School (El Paso, TX). While playing for the Aztecs, Davila was named to the 1-6A All-District 1st Team on two occasions. A four year letterman at El Dorado, Davila helped lead the Aztecs to four straight 6A playoff appearances while averaging 13.8 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.

Davila, who visited with her family in early-May, had this to say about her commitment, "I get to play for a program who competes for a national championship every year, and I look forward to being a part of that process. CM offers a variety of academic programs which will allow me to keep my options open, but as I hone in on studying in the Physical Fitness Specialist program I will be working with some amazing instructors and with amazing technology. The campus was the perfect size for me and is very easy to get around. College basketball is going to be a very different experience. The pace of the game will be drastically faster, and all of the players at CM lift and condition so they are a lot stronger. Our off-season strength and conditioning program should really help me prep for my arrival back to campus in August. I think I can help the team by getting my teammates the ball when and where they need it, I want to help push the tempo and create easy opportunities for our team."

Coach Morong on Davila's commitment, "Beka is a perfect fit for our program and style of play. She is a tremendous facilitator with a sense of flash that will be exciting for our fans. Not only cvan she create for her teammates, but she does so for herself as well. She can hit the deep three and get to the paint to draw contact. Beka is a dymnamic point guard which is just what our 2018 recruiting class needed. Having spent some time with her and her family, they are all a welcomed and refreshing addition to our CM family."

Davila joins the 2018 recruiting class which includes Sierra Wallace (Bath, ME Morse HS), Ahna McCusker (Northwood, NH / CBNA), Kasie Maloney (Concord, NH / Concord HS), Elena Tool (Tilburg, Netherlands), and Patricia Vazquez Diaz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain). The incoming recruiting class will join nine returning players from the 2017-18 Women's Basketball Team that went 30-2 overall, 14-0 in the Yankee Conference, won the Yankee Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships and made their 2nd consecutive appearance in the USCAA National Championship game.
