Women's Basketball defeats NVU-Lyndon in NCAA D3 Exhibition Game

Lyndonville, VT - In a game that saw fifty combined fouls and lacked any first half flow, CM was able to gather themselves at halftime to slip past Northern Vermont University - Lyndon in an NCAA DIII exhibition game. After going into the half all square at 34, the Mustangs ran out to a 21-7 3rd quarter to put away the Hornets. 

Alex Bessey (Jay, ME) scored 13 points, connecting on 3 of 5 long balls while dishing out 4 assists. Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) also tallied 13 points to go along with her 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) once again played well off the bench, finishing with 10 points. Jordyn Reynolds (Poland, ME) recorded 9 points and a game-high 10 rebounds and 7 steals.

The Hornets were led by Alissa Mitchell with 16 points and Faith Poirier who netted 14.

Freshman, Kasie Maloney (Concord, NH) played extremely well off the bench for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs dished out 20 assists on their 25 made field goals and recorded 20 steals, helping force 31 Hornet turnovers.

CM will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, November 4th at 2:00pm in their first conference game of the year against the Knights of Vermont Tech.
