Lady Mustangs set to host rival SMCC

Auburn, ME - Tomorrow night, in the final home game of the first semester, the Lady Mustangs host undefeated and 4th ranked Southern Maine Community College. This will be the first of two regular season conference meetings between the two schools.

The Seawolves come into the Wednesday's game with a perfect 10-0 record overall and at 6-0 in the Yankee Small College Conference averaging 76.5 points per game. Sophomore, Amanda Brett, leads SMCC with 18.2 points per game followed by Nyakuoth Mach with 16.6 per game. Abby Ramirez spearheads the Seawolves attack averaging 9.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 4.2 steals per game.

The Mustangs enter the rivalry game with an 11-1 overall record and a perfect 7-0 YSCC record. They are averaging 84.4 points, 22.8 assists, 21.8 steals per game. All 14 Lady Mustangs average at least 9.5 mintues per game, with 10 different players gracing the starting lineup so far this season. Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) leads the way with 11.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 61.8% from the floor. Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) is the only other Lady Mustang averaging double-figures, with 11 points. CM enters the game having won 43 straight match-ups vs. YSCC opponents.
