Lady Mustangs show no rust, blast Nittany Lions

Scranton, PA - Not having played since December 15th, the concern for CM was the amount of rust they needed to shake off to start the second semester. That concern was quickly put in the review mirror, as the Mustangs ran out to a 28-6 first quarter lead, and never looked back.

Alex Bessey (Jay, ME) dominated play through the first three quarters, finishing with 18 points, including four 3's. Bessey also dished out 4 assists and collected 3 steals. Kristen Huntress (Harrison, ME) sniped 6 of 8 threes to also finish with 18 points. Ahna McCusker (Barrington, NH) came off the bench with an efficient 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting.

Stealing the show was Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) who scored 12 points, including her 1,000th career point. Reynolds becomes only the 7th player in program history to eclipse the century mark, and the first since Gabby Foy in 2015 to do so. She also tallied 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.

Jenna Pacella scored a game-high 20 points in 40-minutes of play.

The Lady Mustangs shot 55.1% from the floor, 48.1% from the 3-point line, and 73.3% from the foul line. They also dished out 29 assists on 38 made field goals.

With the win, CM improves to 13-2 on the season and remains 8-0 in YSCC play. They will be back in action on Wendesday, when they travel to Conord, NH to take on NHTI in a crucial YSCC matchup (6:00pm).
