Women's Basketball dominant in win over NHTI

Concord, NH - It did not take long for the Lady Mustangs to assert themselves Wednesday night as they raced out to a 29-14 first quarter lead behind a 62% field goal percentage. It was all CM, all night, as the pace and pressure never slowed, while the Mustangs dominated the Lynx 93-37 in their second meeting of the season.

Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) was a perfect 8 for 8 from the floor, finishing with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. Ahna McCusker (Barrington, NH) recorded her second career double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while fellow New Hampshire freshman, Kasie Maloney (Concord, NH), tallied 10 points. Alex Bessey (Jay, ME) finished with 11 points, while Kirsten Huntress (Harrison, ME) netted 10.

Jordyn Reynolds (Poland, ME) and Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) both played well. Reynolds finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists while Thurber contributed 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

Melissa Martel led the Lynx with 11 points.

Overall the Mustangs shot 52% from the floor, while out-rebounding NHTI by +19.

With the win CM improves to 14-2 overall and 9-0 in the Yankee Conference. They will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Randolph, VT to take on the Knights of Vermont Tech in another YSCC match-up.
