Randolph, VT - The Lady Mustangs were clicking on all cylinders Friday afternoon putting up 29 points in the first quarter on their way to a 98-33 rout of Vermont Tech. That torrid pace of CM overwhelmed the Knights into 43 turnovers and 22 personal fouls.
Six Lady Mustangs scored in double figures, led by a trio of players with 14 points. Kristen Huntress (Harrison, ME), Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME), and Ahna McCusker (Barrington, NH) each tallied a game-high 14 points. Huntress also collected 6 steals, with Thurber sniping 4 herself. McCusker pulled down 6 rebounds.
Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) just missed a double-double with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Kasie Maloney (Concord, NH) and Jordyn Reynolds (Poland, ME) each contributed 10 points.
CM's discipline defense only committed 10 personal fouls, while drawing 5 offensive fouls in the game. The defensive effort surrender no free throw attempts while holding VTC to less than 27% shooting from the floor, and less than 21% from the 3-point line. Overall CM out-rebounded the Knights by +29 including a 27-3 advantage in offensive rebounds.
Mariah Rilling connected on three 3's to lead the Knights with 9 points.
With the win the Lady Mustangs improve to 15-2 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the Yankee Small College Conference. They will play their first home game since December 12th on Saturday, January 26th when they host the Fighting Saints of the College of St. Joseph's (VT) at 4:00pm.
