Lady Mustangs add to recruiting class

Auburn, ME - Kylee Joyce (Harrington, ME) has committed to join the Lady Mustangs this fall. Joyce, who is an Honors student and National Honor Society member at Narraguagus Jr-Sr High School, helped lead Knights to a 17-1 regular season as a senior.

Selected as a Maine McDonald's Senior All-Star, Joyce also racked up recognition from the Penobscot Valley Conference (PVC) and the Downeast Athletic Conference (DAC). She earned PVC 2nd Team All-Conference honors and was named a DAC Senior All-Star.

According to Joyce, "I chose CM because everyone was so welcoming, and honestly, the success of the women's basketball team was a huge draw for me. In some ways it also reminds me of home. The campus is relatively small, as are the class sizes. It is also quite different than where I am from. There are more options around campus and more things to do. I am really looking forward to being around my new teammates all of the time. Whether it is in the dorms or on long road trips, I think that we will bond and become a lot closer than I am used to. This is going to be a completely new experience for me, and I look forward to the academic and athletic challanges ahead. I am a very determined person and bring a lot of positive energy, so I hope that these things can help the team be as successful as possible."

Coach Morong added, "Not only is Kylee a great basketball player, but she is an even better young woman. She impacts the games in so many ways, but since we are such a defensive minded program, what really stood out to us, was her desire and ability to take offensive fouls. The college game is of course, bigger, faster, stronger, so her commitment to our strength and conditioning program this summer will be very important for her development. Kylee is an incredibly hard-worker, and her blue collar mindset will help her be very successful here at CM, on the court, and in the classroom. We are thrilled to get another downeast student-athlete."
