Women's Basketball lands Florida guard

Auburn, ME - Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, is pleased to announce the commitment of Lexus Lee for the 2019-2020 season. Lee, known for her defensive prowess, was a four year starter for Coconut Creek High School. The 5'3" guard will study in the Medical Assistant program at CM.

Lee had a chance to visit the campus in April, and quickly bonded with the team and coaching staff. "The campus is amazing. Everyone welcomes you with open arms and treats you like you are already a part of their family. Since I am going into the medical field, the academics will be challenging, but CM offers small class sizes and academic support services in a high-tech, hands-on environment."

She continued, "College basketball is going to be different than what I am used to, everyone will be bigger and stronger, and you will need to flat out want it more than your opponent. I am looking forward to this experience and I will do whatever is needed for the CM winning tradition to continue. I plan on bringing that South Florida attitude with me to the court, and I want to show CM that they got the best defensive player in Broward (county)."

Coach Morong added, "Lexus was able to visit with us for a few days earlier this spring, and she really made an impact on many of us. She is confident, hard-working, and tough, while also being bubbly and engaging. Defensively she really gets after it, causing havoc on what seems like every possession. Her quickness and toughness on defense certainly overshadows her offensive ability, but do not let that fool you. She can score, and score in bunches when needed. This is an exciting recruiting class for our program, and Lexus is a big part of that."

Lee is one of three South Florida players that will be joining the 2019 recruiting class, with the next two commitments to be announced over the next month.
