Lady Mustangs sign New Hampshire standout

Auburn, ME - The CM Women's Basketball program continues their strong recruiting streak in bordering New Hampshire with the commitment of Eliza Brault, a 5'9" guard who played at Spaulding High School this past winter. Brault played JV basketball as an 8th grader, before becoming a 4-year varsity starter. She earned NHBCO 3rd Team All-State, as well as her team MVP and Coaches Award.

Beyond the court, Brault has been an extremely active member of her school and community. She was a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team, the Less Plastic Club where they banned styrofoam trays from the school cafe, DECA, and Peer Outreach. Brault was an engaged member in her community's Backpack Outreach where her church fundraised thousands of dollars annually to buy new and used backpacks for underprivileged youth. She also participated in the Straight Street Outreach where her group fed and played music for the homeless or people struggling with addiction.

Brault commented, "I chose CM as my new home because of the way people impacted me on my visit to the college. Whether it was teachers, coaches, or just someone random walking down the hallway, everyone clearly cared and it really showed. I was looking for a family oriented college and team, and CM is exactly what I was looking for. Staying in the dorms with your teammates is awesome, and this will give us a chance to really connect before the season even begins. I am really looking forward to college basketball. CM's program is built on accountability, mental toughness, and aggressiveness, and I loved watching them play and interact with one another. I am really looking forward to learning from other people, and at CM you get to do so in such a diverse environment. I think it is important to keep working hard even if what you want is already yours, so beyond my positive attitude, I think the CM fans will notice that I am never satisfied, and that I will keep pushing no matter what."

Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, on Brault's commitment, "Eliza is a phenomenal young woman. She is incredibly engaged in her community and a driven to make a positive impact in other people's lives. On the court she is relentless. She has length, speed, quickness, and an overall athleticism that is quite rare in our league. Her ability to slash and explode is a lot of fun to watch. She is the type of player that was built to play in a system like ours. I look forward to pushing her out of her comfort zone, but most importantly, I cannot wait to watch her impact our college community during her two years at CM."
