Women's Basketball grinds out win over Lions

Auburn, ME - In their second game in 20-hours, the Lady Mustangs found themselves in a bit of a rut against Champlain - St. Lawrence. Although leading at half time, 41-18, CM was outscored in the second half, winning 71-49.

Freshman, Makenzie Beaudry (Dover Foxcroft, ME) led the way for the Mustangs with 18 points on 8 of 10 shooting. Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) and Kristen Huntress (Naples, ME) each hit a pair of 3s, both finishing with 10 points. Thurber dished out a game-high 7 assists, while Huntress recorded a game-high of 5 steals.

Ariane Dore led the way for the Lions with a game-high 20 points.

Fourteen players saw action for the Mustangs with 12 of them finding the scoring column.

With the win CM improves to 2-0 on the year, and will be back in action next Sunday (11/3), when they host Vermont Tech (1:00pm) in their first YSCC game of the year.
