Auburn, ME - On Saturday, CM hosted UMaine Machias in a crucial Yankee Small College Conference match-up. With a renewed sense of urgency, the Mustangs exploded for 27 points in the 1st quarter, leading start to finish, defeating the Clippers, 84-60.

A quintet of Mustangs scored in double-figures led by Chandler True (Naples, ME) and Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) with 16 points a piece. Both True and Thurber hit four 3's and combined for 10 rebounds. Rebecca Davila (El Paso, TX) flirted with a triple-double, connecting for 13 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. Off the bench, Makenzie Beaudry (Dover Foxcroft, ME) hit for 11 points, while fellow first year, Tatianna Saint-Louis (Riviera Beach, FL) score 10.

The relentless pressure defense of the Mustangs saw impacts from many different players. Kristen Huntress (Harrison, ME), Shemilia Johnson (Newport News, VA), Alyssa Everett (Norridgewock, ME), True, Beaudry, and Davila all recorded at least 2 steals. 

Lexus Lee (Pompano Beach, FL) and Eliza Brault (Ossippee, NH) both played extremely well off the bench.

Tate Dolley led the Clippers with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Although the Mustangs were out-rebounded (-7), they hit a season-high twelve 3's (48%) and connected on 83.3% of their free throws (20-24).

With the win CM improves to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the YSCC. They will be back in action on Thursday when they host the Lynx of NHTI in another crucial conference match-up (8pm).
