Women’s Basketball races past Panthers

Albany, NY - It did not take long for the Mustangs to get going Saturday afternoon. They scored 29 points in the first quarter and did not look back, defeating Albany College of Pharmacy, 88-34.

First-year Eliza Brault (Ossipee, NH) led the way with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in just 19 minutes of play. Kristen Huntress (Harrison, ME) hit 3 triples and finished with 13 points and 6 steals, while Chandler True (Naples, ME) connected for 3 of her own triples, finishing with 11 points.

Returning from injury, both Abby Nadeau and Makenzie Beaudry saw their first action in almost 5 weeks. Nadeau hit a pair of threes and finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds in 16 minutes, while Beaudry finished with 4 points and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes.

Fourteen of the sixteen Mustangs who suited up for the game played at least 10 minutes with 13 of them finding the scoring column. CM out-rebounded the Panthers by +13, which included 18 offensive rebounds. They forced 45 turnovers, 29 of which were steals. In total the Mustangs connected on a season-high 15 threes.

Clare Snell led the Panthers with 15 points and 7 rebounds.

with the win CM improved to 11-1 overall and will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to South Portland to take on Southern Maine Community College (6pm).
