Mustangs conquer Knights in YSCC showdown

Randolph, VT - In another sloppy game, CM found themselves matched up with a well-prepared Vermont Tech squad. Struggling to connect early on, the Mustangs finally found some footing, leading after the first quarter 19-15, and holding the lead throughout the game to win 95-72.

Leading the way for the Mustangs was sophomore Chandler True (Naples, ME). True scored 18 points and pulled down 6 rebounds, while going 6 for 6 from the free throw line. First-year standouts Makenzie Beaudry (Dover Foxcroft, ME) and Abby Nadeau (Wales, ME) tallied 12 points a piece. Beaudry hauled in 7 rebounds on 6 of 9 shooting, while Nadeau recorded a game-high 7 steals, 6 rebounds, and a team-high 4 assists.

Kristen Huntress (Harrison, ME), Eliza Brault (Ossipee, NH), Rebecca Davila (El Paso, TX), and Alyssa Everett (Norridgewock, ME) all chipped in with 8 points.

Kimah Stribling led the Knights with 32 points.

CM out-rebounded the Knights by +19, forced 39 turnovers, and assisted on 23 of their 33 baskets.

The Mustangs will be back in action on Sunday (12:00pm), when they travel northern Maine to take on USCAA D1 top-10 team, the University of Maine Fort Kent Bengals.
