Women's Basketball adds second international commit

Auburn, ME - Renske Tool, a 6'2" forward from Tilburg, Netherlands has committed to join the Lady Mustangs next fall. Tool currently plays for the Almonte basketball club in the U18 national division and the U20 national first division. Previously, Tool was part of the selection practices for the U14, U15, and U16 Dutch National Team, and this past year, competed in the ISF World School Championships representing her home country. Renske, who is the sister of current Lady Mustang, Elena Tool, will be enrolled in the Life Sciences degree program at CM.

Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, commented, "We met Renske a couple of years ago while Elena moved in to campus, and her joining CM when the time came, was certainly something we mentioned, and even joked about. Renske is a tremendous basketball player. Her length and athleticism are quite rare, as is her high level of international basketball experience. Her ability to anticipate, especially on defense, will allow her to challenge every shot in and around the paint. She can attack the basket from the perimeter, and as her game develops further, she will be a tough matchup for a lot of teams - even at higher levels. With commitment to our strength and conditioning program, Renske will grow into a dominant force on the court. In the classroom, she will set the bar high for the rest of the team to reach. We are incredibly happy that such a well-rounded young woman has decided to join our program."

Renske added, "I chose to commit to Central Maine because of the combination of a great basketball program and the amazing academic programs. It feels like the perfect place for me to continue to improve on and off the court. The atmosphere at Central Maine is great; professional but also very welcoming. I have always wanted to play basketball at a higher level, and I cannot wait to give it my all on and off the court!"

Tool joins fellow Dutch player, Luna Love, and local standout, Taylor White (Leavitt Area HS), as the building blocks in the 2020 recruiting class.
