Women's Basketball dominates NHTI

Concord, NH - The Lady Mustangs were ready to go for their Saturday matinee against NHTI, scoring the games first 12 points, and racing away with the 117-69 win. CM set the tempo from the opening tip, overwhelming the Lynx to the tune of 37 turnovers. The Mustangs were relentless in their pursuit on both ends of the floor, putting up a season-high 113 field goal attempts.

Leading the way for the Lady Mustangs was their pair of New Hampshire players, Eliza Brault (Ossipee, NH) and Kasie Maloney (Concord, NH). Making the start in her hometown, Maloney posted 12 points and 7 rebounds. Brault, dominated play from the start, finishing with 21 points, and 9 rebounds.

Chandler True (Naples, ME) was huge off the bench, and provided a necessary spark. Not only did True finish with 18 points off of four 3's (all in the 3rd quarter), but she also recorded 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Makenzie Beaudry (Dover Foxcroft, ME) had her way in the paint, shooting 7 of 8 from the floor and finishing with 14 points and 6 rebounds. The unsung hero of the bunch was captain, Kristen Huntress (Harrison, ME). Huntress was everywhere, flustering the Lynx with her pressure defense and knocking down transition threes. She finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists.

Michaella Biron led NHTI with 20 points on 8 of 25 shooting.

With the win CM improves to 19-2 overall and 12-2 in the Yankee Conference. They will be back in action on Wednesday, in their first home game since January 18th, when they host UMaine Augusta at 6:00pm. The Moose defeated the Mustangs in Augusta earlier this season, handing them their only conference loss in 3+ years.
