Mustangs bounce back, rout NHTI

Concord, NH - After suffering a rare conference loss, the Mustangs traveled to New Hampshire, to take on YSCC foe, NHTI. CM wasted little time establishing the tempo of the game, jumping out to a 30-2 lead on their way to a 97-41 victory over the Lynx.

Leata Te Nana-Williams (Auckland, New Zealand) played her best game of the season after returning to the starting lineup. She recorded a career-high 17 points, to go along with 7 steals, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. She hit three 3s, and shot 64% from the floor overall. Not to be outdone, Luna Love (Zwolle, Netherlands) hit five 3s to finish with 15 points and 4 assists.

First-year forwards, Kali Thompson (Waterville, ME) and Sarah Poli (Benton, ME) each recorded double-doubles. Thompson went for 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists while shooting 67% from the floor. Poli hit for 12 points and 10 rebounds. 

Emily Strachan (Lewiston, ME) filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 6 steals, and 5 assists.

Janessa Lofton led the Lynx with 16 points.

The Mustangs hit eleven 3s, dished out 28 assists, and collected 35 offensive rebounds.

With the win CM improves to 19-3 overall and will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to South Portland to take on Southern Maine Community College. Spectators are permitted.
