Mustangs tame Bobcats for 6th straight win

Paul Smith's, NY - The Mustangs established an early lead on Sunday and cruised to a 71-35 victory over Paul Smith's College in Yankee Conference action. CM forced 34 turnovers and double the Bobcats up on the boards (52-26) in a complete team effort.

Emily Strachan (Lewiston, ME) hlped lead the charge with 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting to go along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Clara Bandh (Sollentuna, Sweden) scored in double-figures for the 5th time in 6 games (4 in a row) to finish with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Elizabeth Barrientos (Manchester, NH) found her scoring touch again, hitting for 10 points. Jade Smedberg (Oxford, ME) and Kali Thompson (Waterville, ME) hauled in 10 rebounds a piece. 

The Mustangs were slow out of the gate, but we reengergized in the second half, scoring 45 points without pressing. 

Jayla Gray led the Bobcats with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

With the win the Mustangs improved to 21-2 overall and 11-0 in the YSCC. They will be back in action on Saturday, February 11th, when they travel to Concord, NH to take on NHTI. With a win on Saturday, the Mustangs can clinch their 6th straight YSCC Regular Season Championship, claiming the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
