Women's Basketball coasts to win over Great Bay

Auburn, ME - The Mustangs stumbled through the first half, leading the Herons 29-20 at the break. Although the scoring picked up in the second half, the Mustangs did not bring their A-game. However, it was enough to defeat GBCC, 71-44.

Three Mustangs scored in double figures. Ella Lavigne led the way with 15 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Rosa Prieto finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Destiny Mora Lopez hit for 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Mustangs bench, led by Winnie LaRochelle and Aiwen Maiwen with 7 points a piece, outscored the Herons bench 29-0. Riley Hebler was great on the defensive end, collecting a team-high 4 steals and taking an offensive foul (13 on the season).

Chantel Ouellette took 2 offensive fouls in the first half to set the women's basketball program record for charges in a season with 18.

Mary Paradis scored a game-high 23 points, while Madison Lovely recorded a 13-point, 20-rebound double-double for the Herons.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 16-1 overall and 9-0 in the YSCC. They will be back in action on Sunday when they host the Bulldogs of Bunker Hill CC in a 4:00pm tilt.
