Mustangs slay Knights in regular season finale

Auburn, ME - On Student-Athlete Recognition Day, the Mustangs tweaked their starting line-up yet again, and it paid off. The Mustangs used timely shooting and strong half-court defense to beat Berkeley College (NY), 87-45.

The Mustangs had five players score in double-figures. Leading the way was Destiny Mora Lopez who finished with a team-high 14 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Zoe Bedford and Molly Corbett hit 4 threes a piece to finish with 12 points each. Chantel Ouellette and Riley Hebler each scored 11 points. Ouellette recorded a double-double with 12 rebounds, while Hebler had 5 assists and 5 steals. Ella Lavigne narrowly missed a double-double of her own with 9 points and 11 rebounds.

Jordan Washington led the Knights with a game-high 18 points.

With the win the Mustangs conclude the regular season at 25-1 overall and a perfect 15-0 at home. They will be back in action on March 2nd in the YSCC Tournament Semifinals. CM earned the tournament's top seed and will play the winner of of the 4/5 match-up between Vermont State Randolph and Paul Smith's. The tournament will be hosted by NHTI in Concord, NH.
