Through eleven seasons at CM, Andrew Morong has led the Mustangs to an overall record of 289-50 (.852) and a Yankee Conference record of 146-15 (.907). During his tenure, CM has seen 21 All-Americans, 19 Academic All-Americans, 25 All-Conference selections, 2 Conference Player of the Year selections, 9 Yankee Conference Tournament MVP's, and most impressively, 30 Academic All-Conference selections.

The 2016-17 Lady Mustangs capped a 33-1 overall record with the USCAA DII National Championship, becoming the 1st women's collegiate basketball team in the state of Maine to win a national title. CM went undefeated in the Yankee Conference winning both the Regular Season Championship (3rd in 5 years) and the Conference Tournament (4th in 6 years). As the #1 overall seed in the USCAA DII National Tournament, the Lady Mustangs won all of their tournament games by double-digits, ending the season with an 18-game win streak.  Coach Morong was also recognized as the USCAA DII National Coach of the Year.

After a runner-up finish in 2018, Coach Morong led the Mustangs back to the USCAA National Championship game for the 3rd straight season, where they once again proved they were tops in the country. CM defeated #1 Villa Maria College, 85-78, to win their 2nd USCAA National Championship in three years and finished the year 28-2 overall.

COVID-19 took away the 2020-21 season, but after finishing as national runner-up in 2020, Coach Morong led the Mustangs to the 2022 USCAA National Championship. Securing the teams 5th straight appearance in the national title game, and their 3rd national championship in 5 years.

Additionally, Coach Morong led the 2013-14, 2017-18, & 2019-20 squads to the USCAA National Championship game, finishing as runner-up.

Morong is a 2004 graduate of Morse High School. After high school Morong attended St. John's University in New York City where he studied Sports Management before transferring back home to the University of Maine.  Morong started coaching career at Morse High School as a varsity assistant coach during the 2005-2006 school year, and was named the Associate Head Coach for the 2007-08 season. Morong spent three years as a girls varsity assistant at Morse before being named the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Poland Regional High School where he held that title from 2008-2011.

In 2008 Coach Morong graduated from the University of Maine with a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Business. In August of 2013, Morong earned his Masters Degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University. Coach Morong also serves the college as the Associate Dean of Enrollment Management. He and his wife, Ambyr, live in Sabattus with their son, Camden, and daughter, Lucy.
