Women's Lacrosse Falls in Inaugural Game

The women's lacrosse team traveled to Castine, ME to play their inaugural game against the Mariners of Maine Maritime Academy. 

The defense stayed strong and alert, but had no answer for the Mariners attack.  Abriana Diana (AB) had five ground balls and goal keeper Sara Duplisea had 5 saves.  Defensive players Maranda Eveson had two forced turnovers and Allayna Nering a ground ball. The Mustangs overall had 27 turn overs and 33 ground balls.

The offense had 13 attempted shots, 7 shots on goal with tri-captain, Amanda Hanning leading the way with four.  Newbies, Hope Doyle and Hannah Champagne, each had two shots on goal, while Maggie McConkey and Jenna Allen had one apiece.

Ally Fuehrer tallied 5 goals and Danielle Holt chipped in with 3 to lead MMA.

Emily Paione scored the program's first ever goal in the first half.  Brianna Lajoie delivered the team's second goal of the game, making the final 14-2 in favor of the Mariners.  The Mustangs are back in action Tuesday evening, when they travel to Waterville, ME to take on the Thomas College Terriers.
