Auburn, ME - Senior defender and team captain for Buckfield Jr.-Sr. High School, Abby Fogg, has committed to play soccer at Central Maine in the fall.  Abby will be enrolled in the General Studies program, which will allow her time to decide what path she wants to take in terms of a major. 

When asked for comments, Buckfield High School Coach, Larry Thornton, said, "Abby is a dedicated and committed player who was a defensive standout for the past two years, leading the Lady Bucs to winning seasons and playoff victories.  She is a physical player with a solid skill set and who possesses a powerful throw-in.  Besides her being a tremendous soccer player with all the tools and the work ethic to be successful at the collegiate level, Abby is also an outstanding student and member of her school community and Central Maine is fortunate to be gaining a player like her."

Head Women's Soccer Coach, Rob Rodriguez, says that, "I am really looking forward to coaching Abby, her reputation as a very good, very aggressive defender will add a lot to our team.  Last season our defense kept us in games and allowed us to remain competitive against some very good teams but being able to add more defenders for this coming season will allow us to move more players around, giving us more versatility."

According to Fogg, "CM provides a good start to my education and it is very inexpensive, also of someone who doesn't know exactly what they're doing I will be allowed to figure out what I want to major in.  I like all of the new features and additions the campus has, I enjoy the small campus, and I enjoy all the options it has for being a relatively small school."

On playing at the next level, "College soccer will be  more intense and an even quicker pace, also it'll be full of newteammates and not people I've grown up with.  I'm interested in meeting new people and getting involved in college sports.  I can bring my aggression, hard work, and leadership to the team, and hopefully make an immediate impact."
