Women's Soccer falls on the road

Unity, ME - The Lady Mustangs traveled to Unity College for an important conference game on the road and came up a bit short when it was all over.  Central Maine defended for most of the first 5-minutes of the game, but once they settled in and got adjusted, it became a very evenly played match up and down the field trading shots on each other's net.  The Mustangs carried the play for a bit and ended up out-shooting Unity 8 to 5 in a first half that ended 0-0.

The second half began much the same with each team trying to gain the advantage and find an opportunity.  Just over the twenty-minute mark in the second half Unity got on the scoreboard on a goal by Samantha Jalkowski.    Jalkowski would score again eight minutes later to put the Rams up 2-0.  The two goal deficit fired up the Mustang midfield and a minute and half later, Megan Duval took the ball to the net off a pass by Tabie Tlumac, to put the Mustangs on the scoreboard with her fifth goal of the season.  Jalkowski would score for a third time two minutes later to put Unity up 3-1.  The Mustangs did not quit and continued attacking the Ram net but would not be able to close the gap even though they ended up out-shooting Unity 17 to 12.

Ali Sult had another excellent game in the net making 9 saves for the Mustangs.

Central Maine is on the road again on Friday, September 22nd heading to Concord, New Hampshire to take on top-ranked NHTI.
