Women's Soccer continues to build recruiting class

Auburn, ME - Central Maine Mustangs Women's Soccer Head Coach, Rob Rodriguez, is pleased to announce the addition of Oak Hill High School defender, Jade Sturtevant, to the Mustangs 2019 recruiting class. Jade is a versatile defender who can play inside or outside and is easily adaptable to different playing styles.

According to Coach Rodriguez, "Jade's ability to carry the ball out of the back is not something you normally see in a high school defender because most teams don't play that way, but it will allow her to fit perfectly into our system because we teach our team to attack from the back."

Oak Hill High School coach Jeremy Young commented, "Jade works as hard in practice as she does in games and she is a quiet leader who leads by example. She can tackle players and play a physical game but she can also play with finesse. Jade is extremely coachable and willing to try new ideas and stick with them even when they do not work the first, second, or third time."

Jade on her commitment, "I love small campus that is close to home, offering the classes that I wanted.   I feel that college soccer will be more intense but I am looking forward to meeting new people and continuing my soccer career. I believe that I can bring positivity, intensity, and reliability to the team."

Jade was named to the Maine Soccer Coaches Class B All-Star Team for 2018 and will be graduating in the Top Ten in her class. She is a student council member and achieved high honors in 7 of her 8 semesters in high school. She will be studying in the Life Sciences Program at Central Maine.
