Bobcats tame Mustangs in season finale

Auburn, ME - The women's volleyball team wrapped up their inaugural season Sunday morning, hosting the Bobcats of Paul Smith's College (NY).  The Mustangs have continued to improve throughout the fall, and although they lost the match 3-1, it was competitive throughout.

Champagne Ruesch (Chugiak, AK) had a tremendous day dishing out 7 aces, 6 kills, 5 digs, and 3 assists.  Delaney Rossignol (Caswell, ME) helped lead the way with a team-high 8 kills and a team-high 8 digs.

The Mustangs shocked the Bobcats in the 2nd set, winning 25-21, leading from start to finish.  After a competitive 3rd set (20-25), CM ran out of gas in the 4th and final set, 25-11.

Head Women's Volleyball Coach, Jesse Dixon, "We have improved so much since early-September when we began practicing, and I am please with how hard we competed in the second half of the season.  Expectations are never high for a first year program, but I think we began to lay the groundwork for a competitive future in the YSCC and USCAA."
