Head Coach Cheryl Haggerty announced that Spencer Hapgood (York, ME) and Simplice Iradukunda (New Haven, CT) will serve as team captains for the cross country team this fall.

Hapgood graduated from York High School in Maine last year where he successfully competed in Track & Field and Cross Country. He is majoring in physical fitness at Central Maine. Iradukunda started running for Central Maine last year when the program just began. She went to high school in Connecticutt and she is majoring in Human Services at CM.

According to Coach Haggerty, "Simplice is a people person and her skills in that area will be put to good use as the captain of the woman's team this year.  Spencer is going to make a great captain for the men's team with his gift for encouraging the other runners and with his past experience."
