Pontbriand hired as new Cross Country coach

Auburn, ME - Central Maine Community College Athletic Director, Dave Gonyea, is pleased to announce the hiring of Dan Pontbriand as the new Cross Country Coach for the upcoming year.

Born and raised in Auburn, Pontbriand has enjoyed the sport of running his entire life. He participated in the sport of track and field while at Edward Little High School and also while enrolled at the University of Southern Maine.

Pontbriand is a 2011 graduate from USM where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education. He has since been working at Lewiston Middle School and coaching the boy's track and field team at Edward Little High School for the past five years. While coaching at ELHS, the boys earned three indoor and three outdoor track KVAC conference championship titles.

According to Pontbriand, "I am looking forward to coaching at the collegiate level and helping expand the fledgling program at CM. It is my goal to help the cross country athletes develop not only on the race course, but also in the classroom."
