XC sends 3 to podium

Belfast, ME - Mustang runners took place on the podium last Saturday, September 23 at the Maine Maritime Mariner's XC Invitational held in Belfast, ME.  The Mustangs took on Maine Maritime and Unity college on a very difficult terrain, held at the Festival of Champions Course. 

CM's Kyle Laroche took the podium as a freshman, finishing the 5 mile course in the top 10 with a time of 32:21, placing 8thplace overall.  Brandon Powell ran a hard race; however, did not finish due to an existing injury. 

For the Women's Team, two Central Maine women ran and both placed in the top 10, receiving recognition for their achievements! Kim Plummer ran a very strategic race and finished in 3rd place overall with a time of 25:55 in the Women's 5K course.  Kristen Carter ran a very strong race, finishing in 8th place overall with a time of 27:46. 

According to Cross Country Coach, Kevin Mitchell, "This course is a great course with lots of challenges and I am extremely proud of the CM runners as they ran hard, ran strategically and really held strong throughout the humid temperatures."

The Mustangs return to action Saturday, September 30 at the Bowdoin College Invitational. ​
