Cross Country races at Runnin' Monks Invitational

Standish, ME – The Mustangs took on a stampede of runners at the Runnin' Monks Invitational held at Saint Joseph's College on Saturday. 

CM's Kyle LaRoche ran a very competitive race, finishing first for the Mustang Team and 16th overall out of 45 runners.  Kyle's time was 33:07 (6:40 mile splits).  Troy Peterson finished in 38th place with a time of 38:08 on the 8-kilometer course while Brandon Powell finished a strong run, finishing in 40th place with a time of 46:29.

For the Mustang Women, Kim Plummer ran a tough race, finishing 21st place overall out of   45 runners with a time of 24:52.  Kristen Carter battled the hills and ran a strong race, finishing in 31st place with a time of 27 minutes. 

The Mustangs ran a great race among many great runners from the following schools:  Saint Joseph's College, University of Maine at Farmington, Babson, Johnson St., Wheelock, Thomas College and UMaine Augusta.  Our runners are taking the next two weeks of training to really focus on our conference meet on Saturday, October 21 at Hampshire College.
