Coach Mitchell finishes strong at the 2019 Beach to Beacon 10K race

Cape Elizabeth, ME - Head Cross Country Coach, Kevin Mitchell, completed his 5th Beach to Beacon this year with a respectable time of 40:51 to finish in the top 6% of finishers on Saturday in Cape Elizabeth. Runners from across the nation joined some of the top runners in the world at the starting line in the 22nd running of the TD Beach to Beacon 10K on August 3. Mitchell finished in 373rd place out of 6,415 participants and was very pleased with his new PR. "Besides the Lake Auburn Half Marathon, Beach to Beacon is always one of my favorite races. It is cool to say that you "ran" with elite runners..of course I never saw them, but I did run the same race!"

"Many local runners participated in the Beach to Beacon this year and it was great to see so many familiar faces from the Lewiston/Auburn area. I hope to see these runners and many college students participate in the upcoming Lake Auburn Half Marathon on Sunday, September 8th - starting right at Central Maine Community College. Besides the Half Marathon, there is a 2-person Half Marathon relay and 5K run/walk, Mitchell stated."

This will be Mitchell's third season as the Head Men's & Women's Cross Country coach for Central Maine Community College. This years X-C roster will be the largest since inception of this program and Mitchell is excited to have a great pack of strong, seasoned runners.
