AUBURN, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team took the Mustangs of Central Maine Community College (CMCC) the distance in a 1-1 draw under the lights on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

For the SeaWolves, this landed as their Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) regular season finale and their second meeting with the rivals from the north. CMCC jumped on the scoreboard early courtesy of Suab Nur from Mohamedamin Nur in the 26th minute.

The SeaWolves evened the score on a cap from first-year midfielder Laszlo Dorogi (West Boylston, Mass.) at the 60:16 marker—his third of the year. The game proceeded into two overtime periods to remain a lock at 1-1.

SMCC goalkeeper Joshua Nagle (Biddeford, Maine) faced 10 shots to make nine saves over 90 minutes of work.

The result leaves SMCC 5-6-2 overall and 4-1-1 in league play; CMCC sits 6-2-1 on the season, 3-1-1 YSCC.

The SeaWolves conclude their regular season with a trip to Bristol Community College in a non-conference meeting on Monday, Oct. 11. Kickoff in Fall River, Mass. is scheduled for 3 p.m.
