Mustang Baseball Splits Against Great Bay and Southern Maine

South Portland, ME - The Central Maine Community College (CMCC) Mustangs bring their overall record to 2-6 splitting a Sunday doubleheader with a 13-0 win over Great Bay Community College (GBCC), and a 5-1 loss against Southern Maine Community College (SMCC).

In game one against GBCC, the Mustang offense spread the wealth putting up an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, and continuing with 11 runs over the next 5 innings to come away with a 13-0 victory.

The Mustang offense produced 13 runs on 12 hits, while Jackson Allen (Whitefield, ME) recorded his first collegiate victory on the mound giving up 0 runs on 4 hits.

The momentum couldn't continue for the offense for game two, as freshman Tristen Chaine (Bridgton, ME) crosses the plate as CM's only run, as the Mustangs drop game two 5-1.

Freshman William Bean (Milton Township, ME) was impressive on the mound in his second start, giving up only three runs on 3 hits over 6 innings with 3 strikeouts. Jordi Valls (Guatemala City, Guatemala) threw one inning in relief giving up 2 runs on two hits with 2 strikeouts.

The Mustangs will travel back to SMCC on Wednesday, 9/25, for one game against the Seawolves with first pitch scheduled for 4pm.
