West hired as Fortnite Coach

Auburn, ME - Central Maine Community College Esports is pleased to announce the hiring of Dustin West, who will serve as the college's Fortnite coach for their new esports program beginning this fall. West was one of the first 5,000 people in North America to reach the Champion League, placing him in the top .1% of all Fortnite players in North America.

In addition to Fortnite, West has extensive experience in Dota 2 while also being a member of Twitch where he has nearly 1,500 followers.

West commented, "Since I started playing video games as a 3-year old in 1999, I have always been in love with them. This is a fantastic opportunity to be the first established collegiate program in Maine, and I aim to set the example for what a Fortnite program should look like. I am most excited about seeing the diverse groups of students and athletes come together like they typically would not, and bond over something that we all have a passion for."

Central Maine Community College opened a brand new, state of the art, Esports Arena located in Kirk Hall in April, and will begin competitive play this fall.

Students interested in playing Fortnite competitively must be enrolled full-time at the college, and can contact Coach West directly at, dwest@cmcc.edu or via Discord, @Dusty#7835
