Esports: Rainbow 6 Siege dominated by Florida

Auburn, ME - In their first collegiate contest, the CM Rainbow 6 Siege team fell to the university of Florida 2-0 in CEA Siege Open League action Wednesday night. The NCAA DI Gators, who have been playing together throughout the summer, dominated play throughout the night.

The teams had a seven map pool to choose from, each banning two maps, before selecting one from the remaining choices. The Mustangs selected Kafe Dostoyevsky and fell 7-0. The Gators chose Border as the second map, and won 7-1.

Rainbow 6 Siege captain, Hunter Loder, commented, "It was really nerve wracking playing our first game of the year. We knew they were good, but we still weren't sure what to expect. The pressure and intensity of playing against another college team was very different than playing casually or even in ranked matches against random people. Before this game, we had only had one scrimmage against another collegiate team, so this experience was definitely eye opening. We learned a lot, and know we need to work on our communication and confidence."

The Mustangs will be back in CEA Siege Open League action next Wednesday at 9:00pm when they take on the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
