Esports: Mustangs sweep quadruple header

Auburn, ME - Wednesday evening was jammed packed with esports match-ups, with Overwatch, Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Madden teams all in action. All games were in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) league play. It was a clean sweep for the Mustangs, winning all four games in what was a historic night for the young esports program.

Overwatch recorded their first win of the year, defeating Keuka College (NY - NCAA DIII) 3-1 in a best of 5 match. After dropping the first game and falling to 0-1 in the series, the Mustangs battled back to win the next 3 games for the win. Overwatch improves to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in ECAC action. They will be back in action on Wednesday, October 30th when they play St. Peter's University (NJ - NCAA DI) in ECAC league action.

Hearthstone also recorded their first win of the year, defeating Sacred Heart University (CT - NCAA DI) 2-1 in a best of 3 match. The Mustangs Hearthstone team improves to 1-2 on the year and will take on Moravian College (PA - NCAA DIII) next Wednesday, October 23rd.

The CM Madden team improved to 1-0 by defeating New England College (NH - NCAA DIII) 2-1 in a best of 3 match. They will be back in action on Tuesday, October 22nd when they take on Mansfield University (PA - NCAA DII).

Super Smash Brothers won their season opening game as well, defeating Thomas College (ME - NCAA DIII) with a clean sheet of 3-0. The Mustangs will be back in action on Monday, October 21st vs. SUNY Polytechnic Institute (NY - NCAA DIII).

The Mustangs looks to keep the momentum rolling through the week with more action Thursday night. Rainbow 6 Siege takes on powerhouse Rutgers Unviersity (NJ, NCAA DI), while the League of Legends team has their season opening game on Saturday against Arcadia University (PA - NCAA DIII).
