X-Country team takes 2nd place at UMA Cross Country Invitational

Augusta, ME - The CMCC men's cross country took 2nd place at the 2019 UMA 5K Invitational on the beautiful Augusta Civic Center course. Race conditions were near perfect with fantastic weather and an eclectic selection of hills, flats, and awesome terrain. The Central Maine Community College men competed hard and stayed in 2nd place as a team, despite some minor injuries on the team. Thomas college took the overall win, with UMaine-August finishing in third place and Unity College in 4th place.  

CM's top 2 individual runners finished in the top 10 overall. Mason Darveau led his team (on his old high school home course) by finishing in 7th place overall with a time of 19:57 on this tough course.  Cam Chase wasn't too far behind his teammate, finishing in 10th place with a time of 21:32. Justin Cabral finished in 12th place with a time of 21:39. CM's Micheal Baker placed 18th with a time of 22:51, followed closely by Captain Levi Buck with a time of 22:58, placing 19th overall. Cade Goulet finished win 25th place with a time of 26:45 and Mark McShane III finished with a time of 29:09, in 27th position. 

The Mustang Men are preparing for the Maine State Cross Country meet on Saturday, October 5th at Colby College at 1:00PM.
