Cross Country competes in Runnin' Monks Invitational

Standish, ME - The Mustang Men ran fast today against some very competitive schools, two weeks in a row! The 8-Kilometer course was a true Cross Country course with lots of trails in the woods, great terrain and beautiful views on St. Joseph's campus. The rain held off for near perfect running conditions with a nice brisk air temperature.

Central Maine Community College competed against Bates College, University of New England, Thomas College, St. Joseph's College, Emerson, Regis (Mass.), U-Maine Presque Isle, Emmaniel (Mass.), NVU-Johnson.

Finishing 8th as a team, the Mustangs were led by first year, Maurice Beaulieau who finished in 35th place with a time of 31:00 flat (6:15/mile pace), followed by Mason Darveau in 54th place with a time of 32:56 (6:38/mile), Justin Cabral in 66th place with a time of 35:14 (7:06/mile), Levi Buck in 70th place with a time of 37:01 (7:27/mile), Cade Goulet in 82nd place with a time of 46:01 and Mark McShane III finishing up the Mustang pack in 83rd place with a time of 46:38.

The Mustangs are gearing up for a great Conference meet next Saturday at NHTI with their full team ready to compete against other YSCC teams.

Head Coach, Kevin Mitchell, commented, "The team has been training extremely hard this season and we are really looking forward to the conference meet, where we hope to make some school history."
