Plagued by cold shooting and foul trouble the Lady Mustangs of CMCC found a way to pull out a hard fought victory over rival Southern Maine Community College. The Lady Mustangs shot 0-11 from the 3-point line and only 19-32 from the foul line.
Stingy defense built a 16-point half time lead for CM and they were able to extend it to 19 3-minutes into the second half.
Maggie Sabine led CM with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Susie French followed with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Ariel McConkey chipped in with 10 points. Maggie McConkey played a strong floor game finishing with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists.
With the win CM improves to 19-4 and completes a perfect Yankee Conference regular season for the first time since 2004, at 14-0. CM hosts Bristol CC on Tuesday before hosting the Yankee Conference Elite 8 next weekend.
