Mustangs Fall to SM on the Road

Auburn, ME - The Mustangs were within striking distance several times, but the Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College put them away with seven runs in the fifth inning for an 11-1 victory on Tuesday.

Central Maine struggled to contain the high-powered offense of SMCC, giving up 11 runs. SM scored seven runs in the fifth inning.

The Mustangs lone run came during the fourth inning, when Ricky Thompson singled up the middle to score Kaden Cutler. Central Maine had an opportunity to score in the fifth, with the bases loaded on two walks and a hard line drive by Jonathan Wheaton. The chance dissipated when McGaff produced a fly ball to right field for the third out.

Damien St. Pierre took the loss for Mustangs. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing six hits and nine runs, six earned, while striking out four.

Thompson went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Mustangs in hits.
