Women's Basketball hosts Youth Clinic

Auburn, ME - In partnership with the Auburn Recreation Department, the CM Women's Basketball team hosted a youth clinic for 4th through 6th grade boys and girls on Sunday. The CM players and coaches put participants through skills and drills, working on the fundamentals.

Head Coach, Andrew Morong, commented, "This event is hopefully the first of many in the Lewiston-Auburn area. Partnering up with our area youth programs is a natural way for our program and women give back to our communities that have been so supportive of us. It also puts our student-athletes in a situation where they are directly being looked up to, and must set an example for younger athletes to follow."

Kristen Huntress, one of two captains for this year's team added, "We had a great time as a team working with the younger players. They all worked so hard and were very enthusiastic. I know we are all looking forward to more opportunities like this."

The CM Women's Basketball team has already kicked off preseason strength and conditioning, and will begin official practices on October 1st. Following the Alumni Game on October 19th, the Lady Mustangs open up the season by hosting the annual Can-Am Tournament. This year's event will take place on October 26th and 27th with CM hosting the Unviersity of New Brunswick Saint John on the 26th at 6:00pm, followed by Champlain St. Lawrence on the 27th at 2:00pm.
